It only took a few hours in Chiang Mai for me to fall completely in love.  From the golden topped temples to the countless bowls of khao soi (here’s everywhere…

Where To Eat In Chiang Mai

I recently spent five days in the city of Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand.  After a week on the tourist island of Phuket, Chiang Mai was such a welcome change.  It was time to experience the real Thailand.  Five days was plenty of time to experience and fall in love with this city which is filled with temples and night markets.  I sampled a lot of food in those five days so hopefully this post will give you a good idea of where to eat and drink in Chiang Mai. The Long Way Home: Bangkok, Thailand

Well, this is it. Our last stop in ten months of travel. We’ve lived in Melbourne and #vanlifed around Australia before flying to Bali, Singapore, Phuket and Chiang Mai. In a week, we will be back in England with not a clue on where we go from here. The only way to end this was with seven nights in the City of Angels; Bangkok. Before Thailand formed, Chiang Mai was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom for approximately 500 years. When planning our journey home, we decided to visit here for three reasons; the night markets, the temples and the elephants. The Flight I don’t normally get nervous when it comes to flying but, after that plane disappeared from Kuala Lumpar, I haven’t…

The Long Way Home: Phuket, Thailand

Following on from our amazing stay in Singapore, we needed a bit of a break. Somewhere to relax with little exploring to be done. With that in mind, we’d booked to stay in the resort of Kata Beach on the island of Phuket in Thailand. I’ve been wanting to visit Thailand for a long time mostly for the food but also the beaches and Bangkok. Before we really looked into Phuket, I’d always thought that it was on Phuket where the towering cliffs and shimmering sands were but it turns out they’re on a separate island, Koh Phi Phi. Phuket’s reputation comes from it’s main town of Patong Beach where…
