    Melbourne’s Top Three Burger Joints

It seems everywhere you look these days, there are burger restaurants left, right and centre. To me though, that isn’t a bad thing. After all, burgers are my favourite food (closely followed by pizza). If I’m going out for a meal, I’ll most likely be ordering a burger so you can only imagine how hard I tried to sample as many as possible in Melbourne. For my fellow burger lovers, thanks to my professional research, I wanted to put together a list of Melbourne’s top three burger joints. It was a tough call and you might not agree with me but I’m confident you won’t be left disappointed no matter…

The Best Places to Eat in Melbourne

Having lived in Melbourne for three months, its safe to say that I did my fair share of eating.  It’s hard not to go out and sample as many of the best places to eat in Melbourne as possible.  Even if that means spending most of your hard-earned savings. Melbourne truly is a vibrant and multi-cultural city where all backgrounds are welcomed with open eyes.  Over the years this has led to restaurants offering cuisines from pretty much all over the world.  There’s Italian on Lygon Street, Greek on Lonsdale Street, plenty of Asian restaurants and everything else from French to Lebanese to African.  Whatever food you fancy, you’re guaranteed…

    Melbourne’s Top Five Bars

Before I visit a new city, I will spend hours researching the best and most unique places to go.  Top of the list will always be to work out which bars I would like (okay, need) to drink in.  If you’re anything like me then you’ll love quirky bars, hidden bars, rooftop bars and bars with a beer garden.  You get the picture, pretty much any bar.  Luckily for you, I’ve already sampled many of Melbourne’s bars and here I’ve narrowed my favourites down.  This is the ultimate list of Melbourne’s top five bars. Berlin Bar Ich Bin Ein Berliner.  Those four words will be etched in your memory as…

    24 Hours in Melbourne

Before you start, if you’re heading to the world’s most liveable city then please take me with you. I recently spent three months in the city and now its all I can think about. Melbourne really does have everything from great bars, restaurants and cafes to some of the best sporting events in the world.  You will find that there’s so much to do in Melbourne that, even if you’ve been before, I can guarantee there’ll be something new that you love! So, if you’ve only got 24 hours in Melbourne, here’s what you need to do! 8am It’s early so you’ll be needing that caffeine hit to set you…

The Best Street Art in Melbourne

When you think of street art, like really high quality art, you’ll almost certainly think of Melbourne.  Street art is so entwined into Melbourne’s culture that nearly every alleyway and brick wall is covered in artwork.  I don’t like the graffiti name tags (which you’ll still find) but the majority of street art you’ll find in Melbourne truly spectacular.  The best street art in Melbourne is that which surprises you.  One minute you’re sat staring out the window on a train, then BAM, there’s a huge image of Kanye West in bed with Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian. I’ve put together a collection of my favourite artworks which should inspire…

    The Last of Melbourne

Firstly, I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year. It’s hard to believe that our time in Melbourne is already over.  I love Melbourne and, although I haven’t been anywhere else in Australia, it may well be my favourite place.  I have been looking forward to getting out of the city though and exploring more. To bring us almost right up to date, this post will cover the highlights of our last couple of weeks in Melbourne. Carols in the Park In an attempt to get in the Christmas spirit, we went out to South Yarra to watch some famous Australian singers (we didn’t know who!) and choirs…

    Weekly Review – 10/12

If you’ve been wondering why my weekly review post is late, I’m sorry but I’ve spent about three days editing my first travel video.  It seems everyone these days is filming travel videos and uploading them to YouTube.  Some are of (very) questionable quality and I don’t want my videos to be in that category.  I want to publish videos that I would be happy watching.  I’m happy with my first video, of a night spent in St Kilda, although I’ve got so much to learn still.  I know nothing about codecs or bitrates! Well if you’re interested and want to watch my first video, here it is. We have…

    Weekly Review – 03/12

Wow where has the year gone? I can’t believe it’s December already and we’ve only got two weeks left in Melbourne.  I’m not sure that I’ll be able to regularly post whilst we’re living on the road but, whenever we have WI-FI, I’ll try to upload a weekly review post! We managed to fit quite a bit in this week although our list is far from empty.  There’s still a few things that have planned or want to do so hopefully we’ll have enough time.  This week we’ve also begun to organise the flat and decide what to send home! Space will be at a premium in our campervan. Sunday…

    14 Photos | 14 Days | #4

Here’s my fourth set of my favourite fourteen photos from the previous fourteen days. It was pretty hard to choose as I used most of my photos for blog posts or on social media. I’ve been out this morning to make sure I had enough and, oddly, four are from today! I tried to take a few long exposures in overcast conditions but the clouds just weren’t moving. I feel like my travel photography is improving as there’s endless amounts of photo-worthy spots everywhere you look in Melbourne. I can’t wait to see the rest of Australia and really test out my skills. I also can’t wait to get the…

    Weekly Review – 26/11

I’ve been getting a bit confused recently as to how to properly date these weekly review articles. They cover the last week, normally from Saturday to Monday, although I think I’ve included too many days recently. So going forward, the date in the title will be a Sunday and I’ll go from Sunday to Sunday. The article will still be published on a Monday. Oh and if you’re still patiently waiting to watch my YouTube channel, it’s coming don’t worry. I’ve just been ordering more goodies to turn my camera into a film-making machine. Once the final item is received, it won’t be too long. I’ve already set a goal…
